We can help build many styles of vegetable gardens. They can be made from existing soil with "double-dug" raised bed style. We can use various types of lumber, logs, boulders, drystack, architectural wall-block, sheet metal, horse troughs, rock, recycled concrete (aka "urbanite"), and/or canoes. Yes, an old canoe can work too.
Double-Tall cedar raised bed
Built for client with back-problems in a smaller condo back yard. We also installed large blue-stone flagstone for stepping stones, and cedar chipped the rest to suppress weeds.
Shou-sugi ban raised bed and planters
(Obviously) not installed yet, these pre-fab beds pictured are available for purchase. We can also custom make sizes for you to install. We used "Shou-sugi ban", a technique where charring the wood locks in oils and helps preserve the wood. We used a propane torch because it is quicker, and safer, to do so.
Recycled Concrete beds and wood and wire fence and trellis
Please see our portfolio for more pictures of this project, which used recycled concrete to form the "keyhole" style raised bed.
Basalt boulders vegetable garden and flagstone path
We installed about 30 tons of irregular basalt boulders, 1/2-2 man size. The plan called them for them to be in concentric arcs forming a 90 degree arc, with paths down the center of them. Blueberries along the wall of the house.
