Hardy, climbing vine grows quickly (trellis recommended).  Three-lobed dark green leaves and large, fragrant, showy purple flowers.  Flowers turn to edible fruits called maypops, which can be eaten fresh or used for jelly.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade

Soil: Rich and moist soil with a pH of 6.1 to 7.5.

Water:  Passionflowers want one or two deep waterings per week throughout the growing season, 1 to 1 1/2 inch of water every week if there is no rain. They are not drought-tolerant.

Zones: 5 to 9.

Height: Purple Passionflower will grow to 12 to 36 feet high and 5 to 6 feet wide.
