Easy to grow perennial herbaceous plant.  Depending on variety, colors range from bright fuchsia to light pink.  Very attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.  Plants and flowers can be used for medicinal purposes.

Sun: Plant in full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Prefers a well-drained site and a rich soil; will not perform well if planted in wet soils. 

Water: Bee balm likes an even supply of moisture during the growing season. For best performance, water every 7 to 10 days during dry periods. When watering, soak the soil to a depth of 6 to 8 inches.

Height:  1 to 4 feet.

Zone: 4 to 8

Potential Pests: The bee balm plant is susceptible to powdery mildew.
